Valerie Crosse

Artist, educator and yoga instructor

Artist statement

I have perpetually been inspired by the wonders of the natural world, that has from earliest memory been in contrast with a mystifying inner awareness of a profound melancholy, combined with an inhibited, introverted nature.

Creating artwork has always been a deep salve to resolve this disquiet, it has been an essential way of navigating and interpreting my life experiences. I have discovered a sense of confidence internally through continuous introspection and creativity that has led me to an inner security and stability.
